Sunday December 30 1883 I was busy about the work all the forenoon. Hatt and John were over with the children to spend the day. We had turkey for dinner. After the folks all went home late in the afternoon I made a fire in one of the rooms up stairs and wrote a long letter to Will Reed. Lizzie Lindley and sister Sue called here just before night. Monday December 31st 1883 I did the washing before noon and I took a lunch and May and I went down to Robinsons for a call. Julia went to the country late in the afternoon. I went over to Hatts after I came from Robinsons and got back just at night. I worked on my edging all the evening. Weather cold and cloudy with prospect of snow. Another year finished today.
