Monday January 16th 1882. I was busy doing house-work all the forenoon and got the parlors cleaned up. Bridget did the washing. I went to town in the afternoon though it was very cold indeed. I got some macrame linin to tie for wisp holders and made one this evening. Tuesday January 17th 1882. Weather still very cold. I did some extra baking today and made another wisp holder. We had company tonight to play cards and spent a very pleasant evening. Wednesday January 18th 1882. I was busy about home all day. I made another wisp holder and helped considerable with the work. Weather still cold. Thursday January 19th 1882. We did lots of work today, put out another washing. I was over town in the afternoon and when I came home found I had lost my garnet cross. Weather pleasanter.
