Friday January 20th 1882. I went over town early this morning to look for my cross and advertize it When I went down to Hatts she had found it there. I was very glad indeed. Hatt came home with me and brought baby over she was so good today. We got our hogs home this morning We had killed and worked all the afternon to fry out the lard. pleasant day. I had a letter from Mr Norris tonight. Saturday January 21st 1882 It was a very busy day for all of us I did the ironing in the forenoon and that left my sweeping to do in the afternoon. Mother and Bridget worked in the lard most of the day and got it all done about five oclock. Mother went to town a little while early in the afternoon to order groceries. I finished a wisp holder for Hatt in the evening I began yesterday and read a little.
