Thursday August 3rd 1882. I helped sew some on the carpet this morning and then went to town to help Rob select paper for dining room and kitchen We came home when the folks were just finishing dinner. In the afternoon we got the kitchen papered. We hear that George Hesss boy was drowned last night and the body recovered in about an hour. Friday August 4th 1882. Mother and I got an early start at papering the dining and sitting room. We finished just at dark by working steadily John McCallister came over to dinner and Otto went home with him for a visit I had a letter from Anna Offett. Saturday August 5th 1882.
