Wednesday September 27th 1882. I gave the upper story a good cleaning up this morning and Mother went to town it was a little late in the afternoon when we got the dinner work done up and I rested a little while in the afternoon Mother was working about her plants. We played cards again in the evening, the same set of us that played last night. Thursday September 28th 1882. I got up early and put out a good big washing by nine oclock. I then cleaned up the house and helped get the dinner It began to rain about noon. I brought the clothes in as they were dry and ironed them in the afternoon. We played cards in the evening and four of the boys came down from up stairs to play with us. We had a very pleasant time indeed. It was a rainy gloomy evening. I had a letter from Lou VanCamp.
