Wednesday December 27th 1882. I worked very hard all the forenoon cleaning up the house and getting ready for some company Mother was expecting this afternoon. John and Hatt were over and Aunty Walker stayed al night Rob and I were going over to the St James to an old folks party but I had such a sore foot that it was impossible for me to go. Weather pleasanter. Thursday December 28th 1882. I was at home all day and busy sewing on Mays dress most of the time. I stopped long enough to wash out a few things in the afternoon. I had a letter from Will Reed. We were much pleased and surprised to have Uncle Jacob come home with Rob to dinner, he will probably make a long visit here among the relatives.
