one Drachm of White [Agenius?] one Drachm of the best Rhubarb one Drachm of Venice Treacle. Powder all these and strain the first Six Ingredients through a Silk Strainer then put them into a thick glass Bottle adding the Venice Treacle to it pour on this a Pint of Brandy and stop up the Bottle very close with a wet Parchment when dry stick it full of holes with a Pin to prevent the Bottle from breaking - place it in a warm Room for 9 days taking care to shake it morning and night. on the tenth day pour it off the infusion gently whilst it is clear and stop it up well with a Linen cloath - then pour on the same Sediment on an other pint of Brandy which is also to be set by in a Bottle close covered up as the first was for nine days & shake it as you did your first Liquor untill you find it begins to look thick. than you much philster it several times till it becomes quite clear take Particular care to put a clean cloth in the funnel that the Liquor may not evaporate mix the two Infusions together & pour it into a Bottle well stopped up It may be used immediately but better if kept
