How to burn Butter Put your Butter into a stew pan and have ready your dridging Box of flour set it over a slow fire and keep dridging & stirring it till it is of a proper thickness & brown it a little. - To polish Mahogany Take one Quart of Linseed Oil half an Ounce Alconite Root a Quarter of an ounce of Littenage half an ounce of Rose pink a quarter of an Ounce of Copperas; boil these together gently and with very great care of its boiling over on a slow fire when cold put it upon your furniture with a small Painters Brush and let it remain a day or two then rub it with a clean Linen Cloth. New Mahogany will take twice or three times doing before it is sufficiently dark and it should not be used at the time it is done; as it will be very apt to stain either the floor or your Cloaths
