A Fire and Water proof Cement To half a Pint of Milk put an equal quantity of vinegar in order to Curdle it - then separate the Curd from the Whey - and mix the Whey with two whites of four or five Eggs beating the whole together - when it is well mix'd add a little quick Lime through a Sieve until it has acquired the consistency of thick paste - with this cement broken vessels and cracks of all kinds may be mended - it dries quickly and resists the action of fire and water. Sponge Cake Mrs Thing Three quarters of a pound of flour - a pound and quarter of Sugar - eight Eggs Three ounces of Sweet almonds - one ounce of Bitter almonds the rind of one Lemon cut or gratered - Beat the almonds with plenty of rose water - First beat the yolks of the Eggs very well then put the Sugar in and beat both well the whites to be beat to a froth - which put in by degrees and beat well - the almonds
