Mr Bridgemans Coachman Terus Receipt for making blacking for the Leathers about the Carriage - One pint of Neats foot Oil - Three ounces of Ivory Black - one ounce of Bees Wax - Two Table Spoonfuls of Spirit of Turpentine Three do of Ink - Melt these ingredients over a slow fire - and when cold - it will be fit for use. - Continue stirring until quite cold - Mrs Mardsley's Mint Cake - A Pound of Loaf Sugar - A Tea Cup full of water boil'd gently like Toffee and choped into water to try, when crisp add 60 drops of Essence of Peppermint and pour it upon hot Plates butter'd - and keep in a Jar covered - Half an ounce of powdered [Lyinger?] to the same quantity of Sugar if you prefer it to peppermint - It must be carefully watched - neither boil'd too much which will make it Sugar again - nor yet too little which will make it soft & tough. -
