Sugar the size of a walnut, take a slice of bread, and cut it into little squares, cut a little Bacon in like Manner fry them with Butter [?] light brown cut a large Cabbage Lettuce in slices, fry it after the other, and put it into the Tureen with the Bread and Bacon - have ready boiled as for [caking?] a [?] of young Pear, put them into the Soup, and pour all into the Tureen.
