Wednesday June 15th 1881. I was sewing all the forenoon and Mrs C-- [Carney?} helped me. Hatt came over right away after dinner and we sewed till six oclock. Mother went to the valley. The men were here to finish up the painting and hang the screens. I never was so hurried in my life. Jennie and I went to the commencement in the evening. Weather very warm. Thursday June 16th 1881 I cleaned up my room this morning with Bridgets help and as soon as we ate our dinner we took the carpet out of the dining room and cleaned that up. Late in the afternoon Jake and Day with Jennie and I went down to see Orrie. We had a pleasant ride and a splendid visit. Friday June 17th 1881. I washed the windows in the back part of the house and helped get the dinner. Day took Jennie and I to town in the buggy. We did some shopping and went down to Hatts to stay
