Friday September 16th 1881 We did the washing this morning and I was busy about the house all the forenoon I fixed a dress for May in the afternoon and practiced in the evening. It set in to rain in the afternoon again. Saturday September 17th 1881 It cleared of beautifully this morning. I went over town and did not get home till nearly noon. I helped with the work in the afternoon and did a little work on the machine for Hatt while Mother was gone to town. I did some mending in the evening and put away the clothes Bridget ironed this afternoon. Sunday September 18th 1881. I was busy about the work all the forenoon as Bridget went to church. I got dressed before dinner and in the afternoon John and I went down the country for a girl. She promised to come in a week. We found Horns folks at home when we got there.
