Saturday January 3rd 1880 It was a gloomy day. I was busy working my pillow case all the afternoon and evening. It was so dark and muddy we did not go to Sanders as we had promised. Archie came. Sunday January 4th 1880 Ott and Hatt with Carrie and Ed went to the valley. Mother and I were busy about the work most of the day. The folks did not get home till eight oclock and we had to keep supper waiting. I did not go to church at all today I felt miserable. Monday January 5th 1880 As soon as we ate breakfast Ott and I started to the depot with the folks. The train was late and I did not stay. I stopped to Mrs Middletons on the way back, got some yarn to knit Lee a pair of mittens and went up to Wins where I stayed till nearly night. When I came home found the folks had done the washing. Mothers birthday.
