Sunday February 22nd 1880 It was a splendid day. Anna and I went to church in the morning and I came around to see Mifs Honifer about my sewing. I helped get the dinner work done and Rob and I had a big talk about how we are going to fix the house. I went over to the Band of hope and got the supper alone when I came home. Mother and Hatt had both gone to the graveyard. Hatt did not come home till after church. I went to bed early. Monday February 23rd 1880 I got the ironing done this forenoon and in the afternoon we girls called at Howes and went on to town and got a lot of new things. Win was with us. Hatt got her a new green cashmere dress and I got black silk and velvet for a dress and dolman. It was nearly six oclock when we got home and I was tired nearly to death. I had a note from Mr. Berlin saying him and Mr Mercer would be over next Saturday eve.
