Thursday July 1st 1880 The men are still digging the cellar and we girls finished cleaning the upper story. Just at noon today Mr Carney who was here a year ago or more came. Mother was invited over to Mrs Trowbridge and Father went over there to supper too. It rained a little in the afternoon and it makes it fearful getting around in the mud. Friday July 2nd 1880 I helped do some baking and take care of some fruit that Carney and Hatt went to Hartsocks for this morning. I dressed and went to town in the afternoon got material for a comfort. We got some slips of plants from Blanche Helmick today. I went to see Miss Patterson about taking music lessons. When I came around to Wins I concluded to stay till after supper and she came home with me. Hatt went to the valley in the afternoon to a festival.
