Friday July 16th 1880 Mother went to town early this morning and brought Mrs Middleton home with her. I finished the cutting before noon and by all working hard we had them sewed and wound ready for coloring by supper time. Rob and I went to town in the buggy and got stuff to make cotton beds. We went up the river of an errand and did not get home till late. I was very tired. Took part of the rags over to the weavers. I have thought of Pete all day long. Saturday July 17th 1880 I was up very early this morning and we knotted three cotton beds and two comforts today but we worked at it all day. Mother colored the carpet rags. I was so tired I was nearly sick tonight.
