till time to go to the train for John & Hatt. The train was very late and we did not wait I went to bed as soon as we got home Wednesday October 13th 1880 We girls went to town in the phaeton this morning and while John and Hatt went to get their new furniture Rob and I went to invite the friends to our party next Friday night. I ironed in the afternoon and Hatt fixed up her room. Win was over and after an early supper for five of us we went to the valley to hear Rob speak, got home at mid-night. Thursday October 14th 1880 I was busy about the house most of the forenoon Mother went to town and was gone a few moments. I got three cakes baked before dinner and the rest of them done by five oclock. I swept the parlors before supper. We worked all the evening getting things ready for the party. Weather very pleasant.
