Friday December 31st 1880. I worked all the forenoon to give Mr Days room a good cleaning up As soon as we had dinner Mr Day took me to town in the cutter I with May to the Matinee of Uncle Toms Cabin but was greatly disappointed in it I got yarn for Lee and Mr Day some mittens and began one pair in the evening. I was out to see Mrs Irish about the girl from the country and found she will not come to work This does not seem like new years eve.
