Sweete water; Take a dowzen bunches of sweet margerum 8 bunches of Basill 3 bunches of sweet mint 4 bunches of lavender 2good handfulls of [mike?] 2 handfulls of musk 2 handfulls of bayes 1 handful of walnut leaves 1 handful of maudlin steep all theis herbs in rose water yf you have any yf not steep them in Conduit water then take 1 [lb?] & a halfe of Aric powder 1 [lb?] of calamint 1 [lb?] of Beniamin half a pound of storax half a pound of cloues a qurter of a pound of ladanum a quarter of a pound of white sanders a quarter of a pound of Cypress all this beaten to a powder must be put into the herbs let them lye in steepe 2 dayes before you begin too still it put in 4 grains of Ciuet 5 grains of musk 5 grains of Amber greece put these in one day before you still it put in a good quantity of rose leaves in the bottom of the still then put in some of the ingredients then couer the top with rose leaues againe; Another sweet water; take 3 pecks of roses of Basil & sweet margerum of each a handfull of lavender 2 handfulls of walnut tree leaues & rosemery of each a handfull & a little balme of cloues 2 ounces bay leaues tops of rosmery some little lemon & orange peele as much white wine as you think will conveniently wett theis things lett them stand & steepe 8 or 10 dayes then distill as rosewater;
