Light Green for a paper Room Mrs Harcourt Boil 4 lb blue Vitriol, and One ditto of Paris white in about 2 Gallons of Water for an Hour or more frequently stirring it; then let it stand to be Cool when the powder will settle to the bottom; then pour off as much of the water, as will come off clear, then mix a Sufficient quantity of Glue size along with the powder, as will make it adhear to the Wall or paper - their ought to be 4 Coats laid on, and time for each to dry, before the other is laid on; If you like to have it a little darker then add some blue Verditer ____________ Turnip Soup --------------- 2 quarts of Strong beef broth, add the Turnips Cut in to Slices with some peices of Ham let it all Stew, till Verry Very tender, then Strain off the Broth and have Ready Some More Turnips pulped thro a sive to thicken it & when stued Stir into it a pint of good Cream with part of the crust of a Role grated Soft __________________ Receipts for dying Purple One Pennyworth of Logwood.
