Scent Jar Benjamin, Storase, anis root, nutmegs, Cloves, of each one ounce ten grains of muster bruised in a morter Lavender, bay leaves, Sweet Basil, marjoram, rose geranium, and sweet briar leaves, put them into a jar with a large handful of salt, stirring frequently to keep them moist and from decay Sprinkle 2 oz of spirits of wine upon the above ingredients. a seville orange Stuck thick with cloves is a pleasant addition - Miss Madeison. To Clean Knives 1 lb of emery, 1 lb ciacus powder, 1 oz reet rouge, 1/2 oz putty powder, 2 penny worth sweet oil - put all together into an old saucepan (an old one because it will not do for anything else afterwards, a little distance from the fire; stir it now and then with a stick for about two hours. - To clean Brass &c - To 2 quarts of Soft water add one pound of Soft Soap and one pound of rosen Stone, let the whole boil 5 hours -
