Friday May 30th 1879. We sent Hatts work over to her this morning. Mother and I worked about the house all the forenoon. She went to town soon after dinner. The girls came over about three oclock & went over then I met Rob over there and we went around some together. I took supper at the Pinney house and went from there to Wins. Rob came to take us to society. It rained so we could not go and both stayed there all night. It got me a new watch chain and a new pair of slippers. Saturday May 31st 1879 When we got home this morning found Mr. Carney had come the night before. I put in most of the day doing the work and did some mending and jobs of sewing. Hatt worked all day on her rug. It was a cloudy gloomy day. We all stayed at home in the evening and I worked on my blue and white tidy. I haven't accomplished as much this month as I would have liked to have done.
