Sunday June 8th 1879 It was so very warm and there seemed so much extra work to do this morning that I did not go to church. Mr Cattrell and Louise were gone all the afternoon and part of the evening. I slept most all the afternoon. Otto had company for supper. John was here in the evening. Mr Fletcher and Frank were here a little while. Winnie came over in the afternoon and stayed till after supper. Monday June 9th 1879 I made a couple of shirts for Lee today with Hatts help and began some work for myself. It was intollerably hot. Mother and Rob rode down to Uncle Jims after super and Mr Cattrell and Louise went to town but some of them stayed long it looked so much like rain. We girls did up the supper work I put away the milk and sewed a little. The young folks played cards down in the sitting room and I wrote a long letter to Charlie. Went to bed at ten oclock.
