Saturday June 14th 1879 We got a late start but got our cake baked and I got the clothes ready to boil by noon, put them out right away after dinner. Then we girls picked over some gooseberries. Callie went to town with Forney. Mr Cathell went to the country. While they got supper I ironed and then Forneys folks with Rob Hatt and I went for a ride. The prospect for a storm sent us home before we were ready to come. The young folks played cards in the evening. I went to bed rather early. Sunday June 15th 1879 It looked like rain so we did not go to church in the morning. And all went to hear the address by President Pickard in the afternoon. When we got home found Mr Dichey and sister here they stayed till after supper. Win and John W- were home for supper too. John and Hatt took Win home. We devoted the evening to a grand visit. Afternoon rather pleasant.
