Thursday August 1st 1879 I did a large washing this morning and we did some baking. We girls both worked at our fancy work in the afternoon. Mother went out to town. Hatt and I had a row after supper and I would not come down stairs in the evening when John and his cousins were here. Friday August 2nd 1879 I ironed all the forenoon and then did not get quite done. Hatt went over to spend the day with Win. Mother and I put up the stove in the summer kitchen in the afternoon. It was a very warm day. Saturday August 3rd 1879 We did up our work and the baking early this forenoon and did not make a fire in the cook stove in the house. About four oclock I walked over town to get a few rations and order some groceries. I went up to Win and staid till after supper and she came home with me. The boys got home tonight. Weather very warm.
