Sunday September 7th 1879 It was rather cold and gloomy this morning but we made a start about eight oclock. Bird and Ott went with John and Hatt and Win and Mr Chirry with Rob and I. We got there just at noon and proceeded to get our dinner at once. It was a grand success. After that was dispensed of we rambled around till four oclock when we started home where we arrived safely about eight oclock. All voting it a splendid trip. Monday September 8th 1879 After we got the morning work done Mother and I walked into town to do a little trading. After we got dinner over I put up tomatoes and worked about the kitchen till four oclock then I went over to Mrs Crowley to get grapes. Mrs Middleton and John came about five oclock as did a new boarder we have. Otto had company for supper. Mrs Howe called this evening. Soon after supper Rob, Mother and Mrs Middleton got started up to Auntys to stay all night they will go on to [Lorna Co?] tomorrow.
