Wednesday September 17th 1879 I had a large washing this morning and finished it by eleven oclock. We had three boards come today. Mr Grisler we put to room with Rob. I sewed a little in the afternoon. Thursday September 18th 1879 I did the ironing this morning and got the dinner while mother and Rob went after grapes. They went to the fair in the afternoon and I sewed on mothers dress in the afternoon and worked on the pillow case in the evening. Friday September 19th 1879 Mother and Rob went to the valley and just as we girls got dinner ready Jim and Emma Weldie came. I worked all day around the house and put up tomatoes in the afternoon. Saturday September 20th 1879 I sewed all the time I could get from the work and finished mothers dress all to the buttonholes. At four oclock I went to town to get some things for tomorrow. I sewed till nine oclock. Weather pleasant.
