Tuesday May 7th 1889 This is Wills birthday and I gave him fifty dollars for a present. We got the ironing done before noon. I worked a little on the net and was out in the yard where the man was at work. I had him take out some young trees from the berry patch. A shower this afternoon. Wednesday May 8th 1889 I gave the upper story a good cleaning this morning and did some sweeping down stairs besides doing baking. I worked some on the net, and was working with the chickens in the afternoon. Frank worked at wood pile all day. Thursday May 9th 12889 We washed again this morning and there was a slight shower of rain in the afternoon. We worked on my net what spare time I had. Will is getting ready to plant corn and Frank worked at the wood all day. Hatties birthday. Friday May 10th 1889 I was busy all forenoon. We got the ironing done. Will was in town. I sent an invitation to the folks to spend Sunday with us. I wrote to Mother in the afternoon and sent her papers. Will began planting corn this afternoon Saturday May 11th 1889 I got through with my housweork in time to give the hen house a going over. Will got through with planting in time to go to town in the afternoon to see about a well being dug. I had Frank cut the old tree by the front door. I worked in the yard most the afternoon. Sunday May 12th 1889 It was three years today since Will and I were married. I had the folks invited over for dinner. We had a pleasant visit after- noon we took a walk down in the lot. After the folks went home I helped with the evening work and wrote a little. Monday May 13th 1889 I was busy about the house all the forenoon as I had extra work to do up stairs. It was a warm day. Will was planting corn all day. Frank helped in the afternoon. I worked some on the net. And had some work to do with my chickens.
