Wednesday August 6th 1890 I took out the hall and stair carpet and Will cleaned them for me before he went to the valley to invite the folks for Saturday. I got the work in the hall done before dinner and in the afternoon put up the parlor curtain. Thursday August 7th 1890 Mother went out to Ott early this morning to stay all day as Fanny is sick. I went to town in the forenoon to get some stuff for cutains. Miss Lewis helped me make them in the afternoon. Will is not well. Friday August 8th 1890 Will did not sit up much till afternoon. he went to town with me about four oclock. I washed the dining room curtains in the morning and got them up in the afternoon. We did baking and fixed things for tomorrow. Saturday August 9th 1890 it was a cool pleasant morning and we got on so well with our work. We were greatly disappointed that Gradma was not able to come up. The folks that did come all appeared to enjoy the visit and dinner. Hatt came out in the afternoon and she and Aunty Walker stayed till after supper. Will took Aunty home. Mother went to Ott to stay all night. [the following text is written vertiically in the right margin] Maud has a little colt. Sunday August 10th 1890 I sent Miss Lewis over to Hatties to got to church with Mother. I read in the forenoon and Will and I ate our dinner alone for the first time since we were married. We went out to Marys in the afternoon. Mother came home at dark they had all been to the valley this afternoon. My eyes hurt so much I went to bed early.
