Saturday December 19th 1891 Mr Able & Nichol went early this morning and Bowen and McGuire before dinner. Josie washed in the forenoon and went home in the afternoon. I got the two east rooms up stairs cleaned up and finished putting the quilt in and got a little start on it. I sewed on my carpet rugs in the evening. weather pleasant. Sunday December 20th 1891 I got through with the work that I went to church in the morning. I rode home with the Woolfs. The folks were over in the afternoon. I read all the evening. Monday December 21st 1891 We got the ironing done in the forenoon and quilted in the afternoon. It began raining about two oclock I got Will to hlep me fringe my tidies in the evening. Old Tom came to work for Will in this morning. Tuesday December 22nd 1891 It was a dark day. We did the cooking and worked on the quilt what time we could. Mr McGuire went home. Wednesday December 23rd 1891 Mr Martin went home this morning. Mother and I put in a good days work on the quilt. Will was plowing. weather nice again. Thursday December 24th 1891 It was dark drizzling in the latter part of the day. We worked all day and some of the evening on the quilt. Will was plowing all day and went over town in the evening. Father and Mother went to the depot this morning to sttend the burial of Mary Hart ONeil who was brought here from Chicago to be buried. Friday December 25th 1891 We all took dinner at Hatties and she surprised us with a christmas tree. We all got presents. It was a rainy forenoon. Will started to plow but had to give it up. It turned very cold about the time we came home. Will went back to town and Father sat up stairs with Mother and I while we worked on the quilt.
