Saturday June 18th 1892 It threatened rain but we mangaged to get washing and ironing both done. Mr & Mrs Hagaman, Mr Able & Mr Calkins all went east on the forenoon train. Us girls gave things a pretty good cleaning out up stairs. It does seem very good to be alone once more. Sunday June 19th 1892 It was a warm day and I took it as easy as possible. I read and wrote a little. The folks were over from town in the afternoon. Ott stayed till after supper. Monday June 20th 1892 We were busy all morning with doing baking and getting our things ready to go away. After dinner Mother and I rode over with the old horse that Lee brought when he came to dinner. Hattie and I went to the funeral of George Paul at two oclock. At half past four Lee and us [overstruck text: "met us at"] started to Burlington. We only had time to change cars there before starting to St Louis. It was a hot night and the ride was tiresome. Tuesday morning Charlie met us there and at 7.30 we were out to Kirkwood. We found then pleasantly situated. We rested and visited during the day. Went to bed early. Wednesday June 22nd 1892 We felt better after a nights sleep. The forenoon we looked over the house and talked with the boarders & the folks. After dinner Charlie and I took Nellie with us to the city. We rode miles on the cars to look at the city. Called on Emma Allen, her Mother was there. We did a little shopping and went out on the six oclock train. Mrs Lem Stinson had spent the afternoon with Mother. She stayed till after supper. Thursday June 23rd 1892 It was a very warm day. We sat around the house all day. After supper Mother and I called on Mrs Stinson and her folks. When we came back the folks were all in the yeard and the evening was spent there. I tried to work on my lace some.
