Holsons and over to town. We were in town in the afternoon and came back by Holsons. Patie is no better. Sunday December 25 1892. A cold Christmas day. The Whetstones were over for dinner. We each got presents and it was a quietly pleasant day. Will got slippers and a book & cup. I got a berry spoon, a pair of over shoes, a chatelaine, a linin centre piece and a dollar in money. Monday December 26th 1892. I was busy about the house in the forenoon. Will took me over to Holsons in the afternoon as we heard Patie was dead. We went back over there and sat up all night. Weather intensely cold. Tuesday December 27th 1892. We slept two hours after we came home. John Adams stayed all night here. Will went to tell the valley folks. Robert & James Adams was here for dinner. The girls were here in the afternoon. Weather better. Wednesday December 28th 1892 Charlie McCallister was here for dinner. Will took Mother over to Halsons a little while. We went to the funeral in the afternoon. We will miss Patie very much. her death is a very sad thing. Thursday December 29th 1892 We put in the forenoon at the work. The Adams boys were all here for dinner. The girls were here after dinner. I was doing a little sewing. Will and I spent the evening at Hatties. Weather mild. Friday December 30th 1892. We were busy with the work all forenoon. Soon after dinner Mother and I started out to make calls. Was a Cranes, Fiches, Halsons, and Mrs E. B. Moores. Will and I spent the evening out at Woolfs. Saturday December 31st 1892. The last day of the year and the last page in Dear Robs book that he began on his 29th birthday. How little he thought it would be all these years before the pages would all be written on and I should finish his book for him. It is a wise Providence that shields the future from us. I was busy about the work all forenoon and spent the afternoon in town. I was at Hatties awhile and Will and I are riding all over town inviting company for supper on Monday evening. Weather nice and sleighing fine. I spent the evening at home Will went down town.
