sure we do not go hungry now. We had hard times the latter part of last week and the first of this as our provisions was not verry plenty and our Meat was nearly all spoiled but we raised such a din with the Comisary that he is doing better now. Mrs. Betsy White was here today also John and Hulda Russell. Phillip Davis & Frank Copeland was here yesterday and some of people from Liberty or vicinity evry day. Our Arms was delivered to us yesterday and we have plenty of work drilling now as we are ambitious to keep the name of the Banner Company of our Regiment at least and we are bound to do it if good behaveior and Strct attention will do it. We are getting most of our hard cases pretty well brok in So we can at least call them half decent. I was sent with ten men night before last to guard the arms at the Depot and I placed the guard and then rolled myself in my Blanket and laid down on a pile of Shelled Corn and Slept so Sound that I did not even dream. It is now 9 O,clock & must Order the roll beat for going to bed and I do not think the Boys will all like to go just yet for they are haveing a regular Stag dance in front of our quarters and appear to be enjoying themselves hugely as Ferman would say but duty before pleasure in a military camp. It is a great deal more trouble to get the Boys all to bed than you ever had with Rilly & Nan. Tell Lew Osborn that I think he had better have joined the army early this Spring but maybe he thinks he can do more for his country in a more pleasant way
