I think you had better send Orrilla to Clark Hill to school if there is none nearer as She can go that far well enough when the roads get good and I do not want her to miss this Summers School Give my best regards to Bunty and tell him I think such as he should be in the service of their country and then there would not be so much need of peaceable men like me going and also tell him I am not much of a dog for Bark. Tell Lew that if his youngster is a man child I want him to call it Jeff Davis. Do you know where Will Griffing is and whether he is a Secessionest or not. Who was the Captain of the Company and is it disbanded that En & San belonged to. Do you get the Herald, Did I understand you to say that Wm Bell had enlisted I got a letter from Ferman this week and he appears to be in the best of Spirits and Says he is not much hurried with his Studies now and that his finances was reduced to 4 cents and when he paid the postage on the letter I got he would have one cent left but he was perfectly happy and wanted for nothing as he was going on tick now. I will quit until morng for it is now nearly ten O Clock and I am tired. Friday Morning 8 O Clock A.M. This is our day for Standing gard and I have just detailed and put it on duty and will now finish my letter.
