On Lafayette & Indianaplis R.R. June 5 1861. Dear wife Our Company was Ordered to Camp Tippecanoe today. we are reorganizing and I cannot Stop tonight as the officers will not consent to it until we get settled again. I will try and come tomorrow if I can if not look for me next day certain 49 of Our Company are here. Grove nor Byron are neither of them with us but we have the flag. I left Liberty this morning and left all well. I went home Monday and found Sister Nancy there. She is getting well. The Cap. sent a runner after me last night to let me know that was to come here. no more as the cars are Starting Look for me tomorrow or next day certain Your affectionate husband A. F. Davis
