It appears that they are all routed in Western Va.. and I do not know whether we are to march over the mountain and join the Eastern Army or whether we remain on this side of the Mountain. I am enjoying excellent health and looking hopefully forward to a Speedy termination of the war so that I may again be able to clasp again to my bosom my beloved family I want some of you to write evry few days and Direct to Buchannon Va to me in Care of Col Wagner 15th Reg. Ind. Vol. and they will be forwarded to me. If they are convenient enclose a stamp or two in a letter as it is impossible to get them here. I wish I had time to tell you some thing of the country but I have not at present you may think this rather hard looking paper to write a letter on but
