I am glad that Ferman has the Mare as I am not at all well pleased with the way she had to work this summer. Your news of the town was well relished as it was the first I had heard for some time I saw a Liberty Herald yesterday which looked like an old familiar face. I see that our Captain is haveing some letters published which I think is cutting it pretty thick in a good many particulars which I could explain if I could see you or any of the Liberty folks to talk to them but I will say nothing further on the subject for the present I think E. M. Goodwin back will be better soon as he can make his own Liniment now. I hear that a great many of Boys at Richmond did not want to go when it come to the pinch and that they cryed lustily is it so. T. W. Bennetts wife writes to him that evry body in Liberty has a baby but her, but I am afraid that is streached a little. I am truly glad to hear that you have such a fine prospect for garden truck for you will find it a great help to you. I do not know that I can give any other orders than what I have in Regard to Henry Husted and the office
