As regards the chidrens pictures I would verry much like to have them but I think you had better not send them as it is verry uncertain whether I should ever get them and as regards to mine it is impossible for me to get it taken for the present but the first chance I have I will have it taken. You said that you thought I would get tired of reading your long letters  I think that is funny thing for an excuse. therefore dont be afraid of making your letters too long.  Our Company is going on picket guard tonight so I must make my letter short.  Luther Beaver is getting robust and healthy.  I am truly glad to hear that you have so many kind friends which gives me a great deal of pleasure.  Do not you and the children make to many calculation on my getting home in October for I may not get to come.  I must close for we must Start and be gone 24 hours.  Hereafter direct to Beverly Randolph County Va. Good by dear dear
