W.D. Sehring Wm Appleton Both of Macy boys H. Adler Andy Rigor & A. J. Colkins of the Liberty boys are unfit for duty but not are able to be about. I think there will be more of them past duty if they do not get more blankets soon as there is so much rain here that the ground is always damp. A great many of our Regiment are badly in need of clothes as the grey suit we got proved to be almost worthless consequently some are perfectly in Rags. We have been promised new clothes in a few days for some time past but that like pay day seems to be slow comeing. I hear that the soldiers are to be paid off in Treasury Notes and if that proves to be the case there will a great deal of trouble with the boys for it will not suit them but I am in hopes it will prove otherwise The cook says come to breakfast so I will qut for the present Well I have had my breakfast and taken the sick boys of the company to the Doctors which amounted to 6 in number and now I will give you the bill of fare of what we had to eat. Fried Beeff Steak Fried crackers Crackers not fried Coffe, Sugar pepper & Hash The Hash was made of cold Beeff and Onions fried together. The Onions was extra haveing traded Coffee for them yesterday. We expect to have as extras for dinner potatoes and Buttermilk which we got in the same way. Berries are so common we dont count them extras anymore. I hear that they are holding disunion or Secession meetings in Liberty and other places in Union County. do you know anything about it. Do you ever see Wm Port if So tell him I would like to have a letter from giveing me some of the Billingsville news.. if he is expecting one from me tell him the reason I dont write to him. Tell Newton there was not much news in his last letter as the greater part was filled with a description of the Battle at Bulls Run which is no news to us now for evry paper that has been in camp for the last
