There is a great many troops rendavousing at this point preparatory to a forward movement but at what point the blow is intended to be Struck I do not Know and if I did I would not be at liberty to tell nor are we allowed to tell the number of troops that are here. Major Bennett was here today and tried to make himself verry agreeable but it was not mutch of a go. He wrote a letter to Captain Patterson some 2 or 3 weeks since in which was enclosed a tribute written by himself and eulogiseing himself as a Captain with Some resolutions in regard to regrets of our boys in parting with him which he wanted the boys to Sign and have published in the Herald but they only laughefed at it and Said that he would have to Show at leas a decent respect to them before they could sign such a document. He made a verry poor face to me in regard to the matter and Said that other Companies had acted that way and he thought that we should do the same but I told him that the boys expected at least a Social good bye from him when he left but failing in even getting that they come to the conclusion that he cared nothing for them consequently they could not be expected to sign a complimentary notice for him. He is badly bored over the matter. Liet. J. H. McClury and his Wife ware here today, he got leave of absence for 3 days and She being at New Albany they met here. Both are well and hearty The Boxes of goods for the boys did not arrive until today and will not be brought to Camp before tomorrow. I was told by the man that told me they had arrived that the charges on them were $7.50. if so it is verry high tarriff and must be overcharged as they will not weigh to amount to that much Armanza Crist is looking very bad and should be sent home immediately to recruit and I shall See the Surgeon tomorrow &
