excepted in a regiment yet we talk of going in to a regiment of Infantry as Cavalry that is being atached to it as a sqadron of Cavalry we had a sad acident to happen in our Camp last night in fireing the canon 3 men badly hurt and one allmost torn to pieces they are all alive yet they was all strangers to me. Jennie, it is so dark I can scarcly see to write it is still raining and looks rather gloomey not quite so pleasant as at home but I hope it wil not last all ways I am not much home sick yet I cannot help sheding many a tear for home and kind friends and oh that pretty seat in your garden I wonder if you sit in and think of little soldier boy as you called me
