March 5th/62 Camp Benton St Louis Mo. Dear Father It is with pleasure I write you a few lines to let you know whare we are we got here the 28th of Feb. we was three days on the way I like the camp very well. I have know idea how long we will stay here some think we wont stay long I hope we wont for we are not much nearer old Price than we was at Mt. Pleasant. There is troops going out and some coming in almost every day the Iowa first Cav left here this morning. The 16th Infantry will be here tomorrow from Keokuk I will get to see some of the Fremont Co. boys for Days Company belongs to that Regiment. The 25th Mo. Regiment
