came in to camp there was one company from Page Co. Iowa (or at least a part of a company) in that regiment. I know some of them. Clmmons the fellow that was helping Williams to thrash wheat when I was at home last winter is here. There is a bout 7000 or 9000 men in this camp the most of which are Infantry, some Cavelry and one Battery of artillery I believe it is the 10th Ohio Battery. They are not as strict here as they were at Mt. Pleasant I have been on Patrole duty to day I take a squad of men and ride through the camp and take up all pedlers that have know passes. It looked rather hard to catch up and old woman and throw all of her cakes and pies out on the ground and make them leave camp, but a soldier can do almost any thing when he is ordered to. Our Company is not improveing much in morality. to tell the truth it is a hard company
