I suppose we are waiting untill the battle at Corinth is fought. I heard yesterday eavening that the rebels had 10000 men at Little rock we will be very apt to have a fight there a company of the 26th regiment of Mo. troops had a skirmish with the rebels a few days a go we lost 19 men they lost a bout the same our men were reinforced and whiped them; I must quit my letter and go to meeting Capt Rector is going to preach. I will finish my letter and tell you a bout the sermon when I come back. I have been to preaching our Capt. preached a very good sermon as usual he is better at preaching than Soldering I think. although he treats me very well now and I have been trying to forget the past. Co. A is decreasing some of the men are dying, some are on detached service. Josiah Wilson is laing at the point of death he is at Fairview, a bout 22 miles from here. We have just recived the news that Corinth evacuated by the rebels. We don't get much war news down here I got a letter from Abner and one from susan they were mailed the 22dn. of Apr. this letter must do you all. It is very hard to get letters sent no postage stamps are very scarce, money is plenty,
