Camp near Helena Arkansas July the 22nd /62 Dear Father, I received yours of July the 2nd yesterday was truly glad to hear from you, and especialy to hear that you had safely returned from Ind with John W. I feel mutch better satisfied now, my health is as good as I could wish, Asahel is well, the health of our regiment is as good as could be expected, the weather is very warm, we are ecamped in a beautifull grassy grove, and as Cool a place as Can be found in this Country, I do not know how long we will stay here, the Pay masters have just
