William and John are both well John has had the sore eyes but is getting well. Hiram Fletcher is very sick. The health of our Regt is very good we are drilling every day when we are in camp our Regt is in a very good condition. General Gorman has inspected all the Cavelry here there is thirteen Regt he says our Regiment is the best disciplined Regt in this part of the army I hope we will yet be an honor to our State. I suppose you know as much about the moovements of the troops down the river as I do there is only about 13,000 men at this post now. Please write in your next letter how your stock is getting along and whether you have
