left here to day for up the river supposed to be going to Memphis Tenn there is two Divisions left with us yet they are Comdg. by Genl Logan and Genl McArther, Genl McPherson is in Comdg of all. Vicksburg is now fortified much stronger than the rebels had it I think it will be impossible for the rebels to retake it. Capt. Huff started for home a week ago he will soon be there he can tell you a great deal more than I can write he said he would go and see you. Milt is well he has just gone to bed. he had a very pleasant visit to Cincinnati I presume you have nice times at your Union meetings I would like very much to have been with you at Tabor, you asked me how I would like to live there I think I would like liveing
