000459 Aug 9th U.S. Arsenal St Louis Mo Well Cous Dave we received your letter and was glad for it was the first one I got we, are now in missourie in the enemys Country we are now in the arsenal and we had orders to march to Jefferson [Barix?] at one oclock it is now 4 oclock and we are not gone yet some reports are going that we are going to Cario or birds point, it was reported a few minutes ago they was fighting two days at Cario we do not know how true it is, we never believe anything here till we see it the 5th and 6th regs left Burlington a few days before
