861514.2 Camp McClellan September the 14 1861 Cosin John I Reseved your letter last night and was Glad to here from you I am well at present all But I hav got a bite on my leg and I Cant walk hardly any and I have Set on the Geround and on the banks til thar is Corns on my ass as big as [hicry?] nuts I hoep that when thes few lines Reaches you it wil find you all well I have wrot Jimmy nearly all of the news for this time But I wil try and scrap up some thing to Say I got a letter from Mart and Eliza the other night that Said that the folks at home was all well then they said that tha had heard that J G White was dead ons and then tha heard that he was not Dead mart said that Jain white had Come Down to washigton and had Started to Sand [loads?] to see him the boy in Camp is all in good helt But one fellow And thar is not mutsh the matte, with him onely he is homesick and th Captain wont give him a ferrlou to go home thar is about 2400 Souldirs here in this Camp now Josiah Dawson has Gon home to Raise another Co But I Dont think that he wil get may voluntes
